This is a great opportunity to have a foodie day out with family or friends or come along on your own to learn all about herbs, how to grow, pick, store and cook with them.  

Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse teams up with Joanne from Ourganic Gardens to deliver a wonderful class packed full of amazing flavours and information all about herbs.  The class will take place on Saturday 16th July in Gortahork, at Ourganic Gardens from 10.00 am to 2.00pm and refreshments, lunch and a goodie bag worth €15 is included in the price of €85.  For full class description see below.

The Power of Herbs Workshop

This workshop is in Gortahork at Ourganic Gardens and is an informal and fun class, packed full of information and advice on how to grow and cook with herbs.

Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse will show participants how to make herb and seasoned salts and everyone will get to make their own individual salt to take home with them.  Sian will then demonstrate how to make a classic salsa verde and chimichurri and how these can be used along with easy to make flat breads.  These healthy, quick and easy accompaniments will enhance a whole range of meals.

Joanne from Ourganic Gardens will show participants how to grow organic herbs from seed, growing on in pots and making new plants from cuttings.  There is also a session on dehydrating herbs and how to store them over the winter to ensure an endless supply of your own herbs to brighten up any meal.

There is a coffee break with some lovely home baked treats and lunch based around what has been made on then day, highlighting seasonal produce from Joanne's garden.

This workshop is packed full of information about cooking and growing herbs and both Joanne and Sian are available to answer questions and supply information about utilising and growing herbs at home.

All equipment and ingredients are supplied including aprons and recipes and there is a goodie bag to take home worth approximately €15.

All participants are asked to wear sensible footwear.
