Preserving Our Traditions - Heritage Week

This workshop is in Gortahork at Ourganic Gardens and is an informal and fun class.  The class is packed full of information and advice on preserving our traditions such as soda bread and chutney making and heritage crops.  

Sian demonstrates how to make Heritage Apple Chutney & Pickles and pickling vinegar using cucumber and onions.  Then everyone gets to make their own soda bread with a selection of additional flavours.  This is a fun and engaging class.

Joanne looks at heritage crops, seeds and how to save them and will also include a talk on the Gortahork Cabbage and Lumper Potatoes.

There is a coffee break with some lovely home baked treats and lunch based around what has been made on then day, highlighting seasonal produce from Joanne's garden.

This workshop is packed full of information about preserving and valuing our traditions and celebrates National Heritage Week.  Joanne and Sian are available to answer questions and supply information about preserving our traditions.

All equipment and ingredients are supplied including aprons and recipes and there is a goodie bag to take home worth approximately €15.

Everyone is asked to wear sensible footwear.
