Donegal Wild Atlantic Flavours is delighted to be taking part in the Mary from Dungloe Fesitval in 2024.  It is a wonderful opportunity to learn how to make traditional Irish Soda Bread and learn a little bit about it’s history.

The Mary from Dungloe International Arts Festival is a community based festival which has been held annually since 1967 in Dungloe , Co Donegal.  It is a family friendly event with lots of wonderful activities for all the family.

This is a fun class where you get to make your own traditional Irish Soda Bread with Sian and Cindy from Donegal Wild Atlantic Flavours.    Using a traditional recipe and some modern ingredients you will get to add your own twist to a classic Irish Bread. Once you have made your bread and it is in the oven baking, Sian will demonstrate how to make Raspberry Jam and to finish off the class there will be a tasting session. 

Whether you come on your own or with family or friends Sian and Cindy from Donegal Wild Atlantic Flavours will answer your questions and help you make unforgettable bread.  There are three classes available on Wednesday 31st July, from 10.00 am to 11.15am, 12.00pm – 1.15pm and 2.00pm – 3.15pm at Hall Mor in Dungloe. 

Tickets are €20 per person and class sizes are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.

Irish Soda Bread Workshop

Sian from Wild Fuschia Bakehouse and Cindy from Coco Milis came together in 2023 and set up Donegal Wild Atlantic Flavours so they could teach people about the wonderful produce available as part of Food Coast Donegal and the Wild Atlantic Way.  Sian specialises in baking breads, cakes and preserves and Cindy is all about the chocolate.

This is an interactive class where participants get to make their own Irish Soda Bread and to watch a Jam making demonstration as well as tasting some of the different types of Irish Bread.

The Class is to be held at the Parochial Hall, Bothar an Chain Mhoir, An Clochoir Liath, Co Dun na ngall, F94 XP62.

All participants get to take their bread home and all recipes are emailed out after the class.

Aprons are supplied and participants are asked to wear sensible footwear.

There is wheelchair access from the car park to the side of the building.
